Three DIY Beauty Hacks I Tried and Love

If you follow me on Instagram and view my stories you are aware of my obsession with beauty products and perhaps tired of me sharing? Assuming I’m right, I won’t share my recent beauty product purchases that were rec influenced by Allure and Vogue. Instead, I’m sharing three DIY Beauty Hacks, I’ve tried and love.

Suffering from Dry, Chapped Lips? Here’s a simple recipe for a lip routine that I’ve tried and swear by. Mix one tablespoon of brown sugar, and a teaspoon of vitamin E and coconut oil to make your DIY Lip Scrub. I use twice a week to exfoliates and condition my lips. It leaves my lips feeling incredibly soft, smooth and supple. To apply, massage a small amount onto the lips, rinse with a damp washcloth. Yes, folks, it’s that simple!

Have acne or blackheads? Use a fresh lemon, slice it in half, rub it on the areas where the acne lives. Why a lemon? Well as you all should know one of the factors that cause acne is bacteria. And, lemon contains strong anti-bacterial qualities that keep your face clear of bacteria and helps to prevent acne and blackheads. I do not recommend trying this if you have sensitive skin. Once a month I suffer from acne and after trying this beauty hack I have noticed results.

Cleaning Your Make-Up Brushes: Ladies, did you know if not washed regularly our make-up brushes gather germs and bacteria which causes breakouts? To prevent this, clean your brushes weekly if you use them daily. Since I am not a daily make-up person, I clean based on my usage. I mix a tablespoon or two of my Cetaphil Cleanser and add a tablespoon of distilled white vinegar and soak in hot water for about 15-20 minutes. I know they are many guides on the internet, especially Youtube encouraging us to use dish-washing liquid, I highly recommend you don’t. Instead, use a gentle facial cleanser, such as Cetaphil

I hope you try these simple and economical DIY beauty hacks and share your experiences with us.

In the meantime, share in the comments Hacks you’ve tried and swear by!
