my night tiME routine
Self-care shouldn’t be that difficult, right? At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself when I couldn’t accommodate a morning routine. In all transparency, I was trying to do what others were doing in their lives. Once I gave up on trying to fit in and focus on my own reality, I learned I barely had time in the mornings, for a self-care routine. Even though it felt like I had more energy, the fact was, I had little time.

My morning routines are not entirely canceled they just consist of less than ten minutes since it’s all I have to spare. My night my tiMe routine, however, is on a next level. Kidding, but you be the judge, check out the three things I do before bed:
- I wash my face using Eve-Lom cleanser apply La Mer Serum or Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil (from time-to-time I use rose hip, jojoba or tea tree oil – which are all non-comedogenic oils. To penetrate the serum/oil faster, I use the jade roller – this method allows the serums and moisturizers to penetrate and work more efficiently.
- Before bed, I enjoy soaking for at least thirty minutes in the bathtub uninterrupted. Dr. Teal Epsom salt, two tablespoons of rose water from concentrate and a few drops of lavender oil to my water and I feel like a brand new person. Lavender oil is known for its relaxing effects on the body, while rose water is known for its anti-inflammatory properties that will calm skin irritations. I’ve personally noticed after a bath with these essential oils, I have a better nights’ sleep.
- Out of the bath/shower (on my air dry skin) I moisture with homemade coconut oil. If you’re looking for an organic brand, try this one. Surprisingly, coconut oil is not good for your face. It’s very heavy, known for causing breakout and clogging of pores.
